''Beyond Our Control'' was the title of an American youth-produced television series that aired on local NBC affiliate WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana for 20 seasons from 1967 to 1986. Usually televised from late-January to mid-May of each year, the program was produced by WJA-TV, a company that was part of the local Junior Achievement program, designed to give high school students business and work experience, of which WNDU-TV was a local sponsor.〔TV Guide: ''One Vice President Resigned Because He Was Failing Algebra'', June 9–15, 1973.〕 == The series == Each 30 minute show was composed of short sketches. Taking place around a fictional, low-budget television station, interstitial channel switching clips were interspersed between segments, often eclectic arrangements onto themselves. Segments from earlier shows often included music performances; segments from later years included more humor based skits. Cast members who went on to greater fame include Larry Karaszewski, Daniel Waters, David Simkins (writer, ''Adventures in Babysitting''), Dean Crane, Diane Werts (creator of "(For Better or Werts )"), Dean Norris, and Corrie Wynns (journalist for WMAQ radio, AP Radio Network and Sheridan Broadcasting Network). An advisor from 1975 to 1977, Donald P. Borchers became a film producer, notable for the 1984 and 2009 versions of ''Children of the Corn''. The closing theme song was "Remember" from the album ''Son of Schmilsson'' by Harry Nilsson.
